Full Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager (SOM) for the associated Service(s), the post holder will be an integral member of the Leadership Team and be responsible for the delivery of all operational functions for their speciality(s) - across all delivery locations. The post holder will work with their Triumvirate, and closely with their SOM, to deliver operational performance targets - including waiting lists, budget adherence and to continually improve the quality of services to patients by using best practice standards within the available income. They will ensure that effective management and delivery underpins the leadership of the directorate(s) they manage and that their administrative teams are supported to ensure that all decisions are translated into improved delivery of services. Full time: 37.5 hours per week, 1. Be an active member of the Service(s) leadership team, proactively leading and providing solutions to resolve all operational issues, in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards and resource constraints. 2. Have existing leadership experience in driving the performance of teams and possess personal qualities and skills to deal competently with complex issues in ensuring that policy is implemented and performance managed within their service(s). 3. Ensure that systems and processes are in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements. This includes responsibility for the delivery of those clinical and clinical technical services within their area. 4. Ensure the provision of high quality, safe, effective and efficient clinical services within portfolio; ensuring that these services are patient centred, responsive, innovative and evidenced based. 5. Responsible for the identification and implementation of improvement plans, utilising GIRFT and national best-practise models to maximise performance and productivity within portfolio. 6. Responsibility for the achievement of operational quality, workforce, financial, and performance metrics within portfolio.
