Director of Safeguarding & Attendance

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Executive Team as Director of Safeguarding and Attendance. This is a rare opportunity to shape safeguarding and attendance strategy across a growing, ambitious and values-led Multi Academy Trust. Working directly with the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic leadership across our family of primary, secondary and special school, ensuring that safeguarding and attendance remain uncompromising priorities. You will influence practice at every level, develop outstanding professional networks, and ensure our academies continue to deliver the highest standards of care, compliance and inclusion. About the role This is far more than a compliance role. We are looking for an inspiring leader who can build capacity, strengthen culture and drive continuous improvement. You will:

• Lead the Trust's safeguarding and attendance strategy.
• Provide expert advice to Headteachers, Designated Safeguarding Leads and Executive Leaders.
• Develop exceptional safeguarding and attendance practice across every academy.
• Lead Trust-wide audits, quality assurance and professional development.
• Analyse strategic data to improve outcomes for children, particularly our most vulnerable learners.
• Build strong partnerships with local authorities, safeguarding partners and external agencies.
• Champion a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and excellent attendance is seen as fundamental to educational success., The Trust is committed to the principles of the Framework for Ethical Leadership in Education and expects all leaders to embody these values in their daily work.
All posts are subject to safeguarding responsibilities (relevant to the role), including the duty to protect and promote the welfare of children and young people, and to adhere to the Trust's safeguarding policies and procedures. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, including a barred list check where appropriate. It is an offence for a person barred from engaging in regulated activity with children to apply for a role involving such activity. You will be an experienced safeguarding professional with significant leadership experience in schools or a Multi Academy Trust. You will bring:
• Extensive experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead or senior safeguarding leader.
• Outstanding knowledge of statutory safeguarding guidance and attendance legislation.
• Credibility to influence, support and challenge senior leaders.
• Exceptional strategic thinking alongside the ability to lead complex operational work.
• A passion for developing others and building high-performing teams.
• A relentless commitment to improving the lives of children and young people.
