The postholder will lead the Charity's long-term vision and growth, ensuring the effective stewardship, governance and development of charitable funds to maximise impact for patients, colleagues and the communities served by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. We are seeking an exceptional senior leader with experience in NHS charity leadership. Proven experience of leading an NHS charity at a senior level, including strategic fundraising, charity governance, income generation and stakeholder engagement, is essential. The successful candidate will hold overall accountability for charity strategy, fundraising performance, financial sustainability, governance compliance, risk management and organisational effectiveness. They will work closely with Corporate Trustees, senior Trust leaders, donors, partners and external stakeholders to ensure the Charity continues to grow its reach, reputation and impact. This role requires a highly credible and visible leader who can operate confidently at Board and executive level, providing expert advice on charity governance, regulation and best practice, while driving innovation and sustainable income growth.Main duties of the job The postholder will: Provide strategic leadership for Leicester Hospitals Charity, shaping and delivering its vision, priorities and long-term development. Lead the continued growth and service development of the Charity, ensuring delivery of ambitious and sustainable fundraising strategies. Oversee all fundraising activity, including appeals, campaigns, donor development and high-value income opportunities. Identify and secure major philanthropic, corporate and partnership opportunities to maximise charitable income. Act as the Charity's senior professional adviser on governance, regulatory compliance, ethical fundraising and sector best practice. Serve as the senior ambassador and public face of Leicester Hospitals Charity, representing the Charity internally and externally. Work closely with Corporate Trustees to support effective decision-making, strategic oversight and performance assurance. Maintain oversight of all charity policies, governance frameworks, risk registers, audits and impact reporting. Lead financial planning, budget management and risk reporting for the Charity, ensuring robust stewardship of charitable funds. Provide effective leadership and line management to the Charitable Appeals Team, fostering high performance and professional development.
