Experteer Overview As Director, Generative AI - Chemical Development, you will steer the GenAI strategy for Chemical Development, aligning with quality, compliance, and enterprise digital goals. You will partner across scientific, regulatory, data, IT, and governance functions to identify high-value AI opportunities and embed AI-driven workflows. You will shape governance, roadmaps, and success metrics, enabling faster CMC delivery and improved decision-making through automated knowledge work. This is a mission-driven role at a leading pharma company where AI accelerates scientific excellence and scalable digital transformation. Pay / Benefits
- Define and deliver the GenAI and agent strategy for Chemical Development, aligned with business processes and milestones Identify and drive high-value GenAI opportunities (e.g., technical report generation, knowledge mining, experiment planning support, documentation workflows, risk assessment, regulatory content) Establish a robust prioritisation framework for use cases based on value, feasibility, data readiness and impact Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure usable, governed, and scalable solutions Build organisational confidence in GenAI through responsible use, oversight, validation, and risk management; embed AI into routine workflows Own the Chemical Development GenAI portfolio and define a multi-year roadmap for AI as a core capability Chair or contribute to AI governance forums for use case approval and value realization; define success metrics and communicate progress Drive cross-functional transformation and technology adoption across scientific and development activities Tasks Strong understanding of Generative AI, ML, scientific informatics, automation, and digital technologies Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing senior stakeholders Proven ability to lead organisational transformation and technology adoption Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and executive influencing skills Application of GenAI in a scientific setting with knowledge of chemical development workflows Expertise in LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and prompt engineering Ability to translate scientific workflows into AI use cases and product requirements Understanding of GxP, data integrity, compliance, and governance Experience leading cross-functional digital or AI initiatives Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Experience with scientific documentation, knowledge management, and regulated data Proven ability to lead organisational transformation and technology adoption Desirable: Pharmaceutical CMC experience Key requirements
