Full Job Description
As part of our Direct Payments Support Team you will help to ensure that people who use direct payments are able to recruit their own personal assistants (PAs) to meet their social care needs. This will include providing information, supporting with employment processes, giving advice to people who currently use direct payments and to those who want more information to help them decide on the right option for them. You will work closely with our care pathway teams to promote direct payments options, advise on LAS processes, DP financial queries, and secure the recruitment of directly employed and self-employed PAs. This is a secondment opportunity of up to 12 months, and open to people with a current LCC contract. You will require line management approval before submitting an expression of interest and this should be indicated on your submission. Requests for part-time working will also be considered. We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our Adult Social Care Commissioning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting people to maintain choice and control over their care through Direct Payments., To apply for this post, you must have:
- An NVQ Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience developing and maintaining specialist knowledge of Direct Payments, self-directed support, and relevant HR and employment legislation relating to Personal Assistants (PAs).
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Strong IT skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience influencing decisions and outcomes through the provision of effective advice, guidance, and professional expertise.
- Sound knowledge of Direct Payments legislation, commissioning and contracting processes, and social care regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, partnership-working, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes In addition, we also expect you to share and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents.
