Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and highly skilled Digital Learning & Technology Support Technician to join our large, dynamic and forward-thinking department CHHS which encompasses Childcare and Education, Health and Social Care, Health Sciences, Sports and Science programmes. The successful candidate will possess substantial experience in supporting individuals with using new technology, maintaining recording equipment, and coordinating the recording of student practical assessments across all the curriculum areas. The postholder will be responsible for: The postholder will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation and development for new software and digital systems
  • Maintaining, managing and troubleshooting recording, media and associated technology equipment.
  • Coordinating, recording and managing practical assessments across curriculum areas
  • Supporting high-quality teaching, learning and assessment activities for staff and students
  • Pre class preparation and in class technical support for teachers and students.
  • Liaising with Quality Improvement, IT and curriculum staff to ensure digital support remains aligned with college systems, agreed standards and awarding organisation requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant college policies and procedures, including UK GDPR, data protection and digital security requirements.
  • The postholder will also ensure that all users of equipment operate in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and best practice. They will be sufficiently knowledgeable to supervise student-directed study sessions and, in doing so, will contribute to the students' digital skills, technical competence and overall learning experience. Working collaboratively with teaching staff and supporting colleagues, the successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of practical assessments, the enhancement of teaching and learning activities, and the promotion of the department both internally and externally. They will be committed to delivering an excellent service and helping to create an innovative and inclusive learning environment.

  • A degree or higher-level qualification in Media, Digital Technologies, Educational Technology, Computing, or a related subject area.
  • Level 2 minimum in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).
