Job Details

  • Full-time: 32.5 hours per week

  • Salary range: £31,124 per annum inclusive of London Allowance

  • Contract type: Permanent

  • Hybrid work: available with at least 3 days in the Academy

  • Start date: 25 August 2025

The Royal Academy of Music is one of the world's leading conservatoires. We have trained many of the greatest names in music over 200 years, including Elton John, Evelyn Glennie, Simon Rattle, Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Jacob Collier, and remain focused on developing tomorrow's musical leaders in disciplines including classical, jazz, composition and musical theatre. Based in central London adjacent to Regent's Park, we pride ourselves on being a stimulating, forward-looking and friendly environment with students and staff from over 50 countries.

We are currently seeking a creative and musically aware Digital Content Officer to work with our Marketing, Communications and Audiences (MC&A) team. The Digital Content Officer will create video which will be used to support the Academy's broad digital communications work, including fundraising campaigns, as well as marketing and social media content. The Digital Content Officer works closely with the Academy's Website and Multimedia Manager to deliver internal filming requests, edit videos according to a brief and in line with the Academy's house style, as well as co-ordinate shoots and manage the Advancement team's library of video files.

As the Academy continues to expand its digital communications, this new position has an important role to play in making compelling video content for a range of purposes, and with the input of a range of colleagues and disciplines across the Academy.

We are seeking a well-organised and skilled videographer with knowledge of DSLR and mirrorless camera operation and audio capture in a musical setting. The ideal candidate will have experience filming, editing, and colour grading video content for public audiences, using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro. They will be comfortable planning shoots and managing files and equipment.

As a requirement for your application, please include a URL link to your video showreel in the 'Supporting Statement' section of the application. It should be ideally 60-120 seconds in length. The following formats are acceptable: YouTube, Vimeo, or similar video sharing platforms.

Completed applications must be received by 23.59 on Sunday 6 July 2025.

Interviews are expected to take place on-site on Thursday 17 July and Friday 18 July 2025.

The Academy accepts applications from non-UK citizens who have the right to work in the UK. Please note that the Academy is unable to provide a certificate of sponsorship for this role, as this role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker visa.

Enquiries or applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.

The Academy is committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all students.

The Academy values diversity and welcomes your application.

We particularly welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates, and candidates with disabilities because we would like to increase the representation of these groups in these roles. We want to do this because we know greater diversity will lead to greater results for students.
