Engineering Sciences comprises ten academic departments that undertake research and teaching across a wide range of disciplines. Our scientists and engineers take discoveries from fundamentals to practice, producing innovative technological solutions to challenging problems. For more information see Digital Innovation Unit The Digital Innovation Unit is a capability within the Faculty of UCL Engineering and the first of its kind in UCL, if not the UK. Its mission is to develop a model for the 'Faculty of the Future', by applying digital innovation to all aspects of academic practice: research, teaching, knowledge transfer and professional services. The Unit seeks to advance the strategic mission of the Faculty by identifying business problems and areas for improvement; designing, developing and implementing solutions, transforming working practices; and providing coaching, mentoring and training for Faculty Staff. In addition to delivering new systems and processes, it aims to transform the working culture of professional staff in the Faculty, by empowering them to take the lead in addressing their own professional challenges through digital innovation., This is a Maternity cover, available to UCL staff only The Digital Communications Manager will help develop and implement the communications and Marketing strategy through delivery and evaluation of a wide range of communications projects and materials including, but not limited to: websites, e-newsletters, multimedia content and social media. The post-holder will liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including Deans, Directors, departmental administrators, academic colleagues and central teams across UCL as well as external partners and institutions The post holder will actively follow UCL policies including Equal Opportunities policies and is expected to give consideration within their role as to how they can actively advance equality of opportunity and good relations between people who share a relevant protected characteristic and people who do not share it. The post holder will undertake and maintain Fire Evacuation Marshal training, and maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
- A solid understanding of the use of a range of social media platforms
- Excellent knowledge of website content management systems and email marketing systems
- Continually sets new standards to create better work and improve the efficiency of systems
- Excellent writing, editing and proof reading skills, across different platforms
- Experience of using Google Analytics and/or other metric performance software
