Northumberland Early Years Team have responsibility for ensuring that high-quality early years and childcare provision is available and accessible to all families with young children., An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Early Years Team, as we are seeking to appoint an Early Years Digital Administrator and Childcare Officer in a fixed term post. The successful candidate will work closely with the Early Years Sustainability and Workforce Manager, primarily to support the development and management of our Families Information Systems and provide expert advice on childcare-related matters. About the Role You will play a key role in:
- Supporting families, schools, and professionals with childcareeligibilityand funding advice.
- Developing and maintaining digital platforms including the Family Services Directory,early years training platform and financial systems.
- Regularly update provider details, vacancies, fees, and Ofsted information.
- Ensure compliance with statutory duties around publishing childcare information.
- Contributing to the Childcare Sufficiency process bymonitoring levels of registered provision and identifying any barriers to access. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate digital records and databases.
- Work collaboratively with system developers (e.g. IDOX) to ensure efficient system management, including timely reporting,tracking and resolution of faults.
- Provide first-line support and guidance to parents and professionals.
- Liaise with childcare providers to gather and share accurate information.
- Build relationships with schools, health professionals, social care, and community organisations.
- Act as a key contact for enquiries about childcare and family services. The successful candidate will be welcomed into a friendly, supportive team with regular 1 to 1's, appraisals and team meetings. The contractual work base will be County Hall, Morpeth, with flexible working arrangements following Northumberland's WorkSmart policy.
