Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to work within our Acute Adult Inpatient Team. It is a varied role which will involve working closely and supporting your dietetic colleagues, as well as various multidisciplinary teams, to support patients under older people's medicine, gastroenterology, neurology and stroke, respiratory, cardiology, oncology, surgery, and more! As a department we have regular shared lunches and there are frequent social events giving us the chance to relax and catch up outside of work., As a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner working within our Adult Acute Inpatient Team, you'll be working to assist the Dietitians to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care. You will take responsibility for the dietetic/nutritional management of patients on your caseload, in accordance with agreed pathways for care and direct and indirect supervision from a qualified Dietitian. You will work with adult inpatients from a wide range of clinical specialties within the acute team, including medicine for the elderly, respiratory, oncology, gastroenterology, surgical and more. You will see patients requiring different levels of nutrition support including oral and enteral nutrition support. The successful candidate will be highly organized and forward thinking and contribute to service development and quality improvement projects, as well as participation in research and audit. The candidate should be confident in delivering presentations and teaching sessions such as nutritional screening training to ward staff.
