An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Dietetic Assistant to join our Adult Community Dietetic Team., The role will support adults with a wide range of nutritional needs, including those requiring home enteral tube feeding and oral nutritional support. Key areas include supporting people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), young people transitioning from Children's to Adult Dietetic Services, and patients considering or preparing for tube feeding.

We are a friendly, supportive team committed to staff development through regular supervision, training and learning opportunities. Equipment is provided to support flexible and hybrid working where appropriate., The Dietetic Assistant will support Dietitians in the assessment, monitoring and review of patients receiving dietetic intervention, helping patients, carers and professionals implement nutritional care plans effectively.

The role includes telephone reviews, face-to-face contacts and administrative duties for clinically stable patients. Responsibilities may include monitoring nutritional intake, weight and feeding tolerance; supporting the ordering of enteral feeds, feeding equipment and oral nutritional supplements; and maintaining accurate patient records.

The post holder will work across a range of settings including patients' homes, care homes, clinics and telephone consultations. They will liaise with healthcare professionals, carers and other agencies to support patient care and escalate concerns appropriately to the supervising Dietitian.

Training and ongoing support will be provided, including development in home enteral feeding, nutritional support, transition from Children's Services and supporting patients with neurological conditions such as MND.

This is a part-time position of 22.5 hours per week (0.6 WTE), worked within standard office hours.

Applicants should have experience working within a UK health or social care setting supporting people with complex health needs. An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or relevant experience gained in a healthcare, community or care environment, is essential. Previous experience within a dietetic service is desirable.

Working under the guidance of a registered Dietitian, the successful candidate will support the delivery of safe and effective nutritional care within agreed policies, procedures and care pathways.
