A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our Renal Dialysis Team at Royal Preston Hospital as a Dialysis Support Officer. The role involves working early and late shifts, Monday to Saturday, between 7:00am and 8:00pm, during the unit's operational hours.

The role involvesassistingthe nursing and technical staff with the day-to-day running of a busy renal dialysis unit. Duties will include theorganisation of consumablesrequiredfor dialysis, thepreparation of dialysis equipment for the treatment of patients, external cleaning of dialysis machines following treatment, and moving equipment asrequired., The Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust forms one of the Major Acute trusts in the North West with multiple specialities on site, as well as being a Tertiary Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria for the Departments of Trauma, Neurosciences, Oncology, Plastic Surgery & Burns, Vascular Surgery in addition to Renal Medicine.
We are looking for a proactive and organised team member to support the smooth delivery of high-quality dialysis care. In this role, you will take responsibility for preparing and organising all dialysis consumables to ensure a safe and efficient treatment environment. You will connect dialysis machines to water supplies and drain points, start up equipment, run T1 tests, and assist with lining and priming to ensure every session begins smoothly. You will also help maintain our high standards of cleanliness by checking and initiating the appropriate automatic cleaning functions on the machines. At the end of each treatment, you'll remove used bloodlines and dispose of them safely in line with renal waste policies, playing a key part in keeping our service compliant, clean and patient-focused.
