Diagnostic Radiographer

We are seeking a motivated Diagnostic Radiographer to join our friendly multidisciplinary Radiology team, providing high-quality patient care across the New Forest and surrounding areas. Applications are welcomed from both final-year student radiographers and HCPC-registered radiographers looking to develop their skills and career. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of plain radiographic techniques, NHS experience as a student or qualified radiographer, and a proactive, compassionate approach to patient care. Based primarily at Lymington New Forest Hospital, the role will also include working at community sites in Romsey and Hythe following induction. Participation in out-of-hours and extended-day services is required. Our fully digital department offers a wide range of imaging services including X-ray, fluoroscopy, theatre imaging, DXA, ultrasound, CT, and MRI, supported by modern Siemens and Canon equipment. The role involves performing a wide range of radiographic examinations, including general X-ray, dental, fluoroscopy, theatre and mobile imaging, ensuring high-quality patient care and imaging standards. The post holder will work in accordance with IRR17 and IR(ME)R regulations, participate in extended-day services and the on-call out-of-hours rota, and contribute to maintaining a safe, effective, and patient-focused service. Key responsibilities include:

• Performing and evaluating radiographic examinations to a high professional standard.
• Prioritising workload and maintaining accurate patient records using radiology IT systems.
• Supporting quality assurance, audit, and clinical governance activities.
• Ensuring radiation safety and adherence to departmental protocols.
• Supervising and supporting students, assistant practitioners, and radiographic assistants.
• Contributing to staff training, induction, and ongoing service development.
• Maintaining HCPC registration and continued professional development.
