Diabetic Nurse Specialist

As a Diabetic Nurse Specialist at the James Paget Hospital, you will provide specialist care and education to patients with Diabetes. You will be joining a motivated team that covers both inpatient and outpatient care., To contribute to the work of the Diabetes Specialist Nursing Service in providing clinical support and advice for patients, carers and other healthcare professionals.

To educate patients and family/carers in an understanding of Diabetes and the treatment and management of Diabetes and its complications.

To be an active member of the Diabetic team and the wider professional agencies which are involved in the provision of diabetes services within the HealthEast CCG area.

To promote standards of care and practice in line with Trust Policies and Guidelines.

To assist in the maintenance and development of systems and strategies to promote and enhance the delivery of care to the patient group.

To actively engage in promoting the best standards of clinical care and cost-effective delivery of that care including medicines management and resource utilisation.
