Designer - Systems, XCM EU

Amazon XCM is seeking a Systems Designer/Creative Technologist to build and maintain the design systems, templates, and creative technology tools that power the EU Creative team's production output. This is a maker-first role - you will spend the majority of your time building: designing templates, creating component libraries, configuring automation workflows, and exploring new tools that can improve the team's output.

You will spend your time in design and creative technology tools, translating design direction into scalable, buildable systems that production designers can pick up and run with. You will work closely with copy and localisation workflows to ensure what you build can scale from master to multi-locale without compromise.

The ideal candidate is naturally curious, technically minded, and design-literate - equally comfortable in Figma building a template library as they are experimenting with GenAI tools to generate asset variations., Build and maintain design templates, component libraries, and asset frameworks across key channels (homepage, storefronts, social, outbound, category)
- Explore and experiment with creative technology tools - including GenAI, automation platforms, and dynamic content systems
- Translate campaign visual identities into systematic, repeatable design components that production designers can use at scale
- Ensure design consistency and brand compliance across all templated outputs
- Make creative trade-off decisions at the features level - balancing template flexibility, production efficiency, and design quality
- Document templates, systems, and processes clearly to enable self-serve adoption across the team
- Collaborate with Production Designers to understand pain points and identify opportunities for systems-led improvements
- Actively seek knowledge of emerging design tools, AI/ML applications, and industry trends, and apply learnings to creative solutions

Experience in e-commerce, digital advertising, or media
- 2+ years relevant experience in design, production design, creative technology, or a related role
- Strong design fundamentals - layout, typography, colour theory, and brand identity application
- Demonstrated interest in or experience with creative technology - including automation tools, GenAI, or templated production systems
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for consistency and quality
- Experience with GenAI tools (image generation, asset variation, or similar) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
