Full Job Description

Lead and quality assure teaching, learning and wider provision for children in care, sharing effective practice and addressing areas for improvement.
Use academic, progress and behavioural information to identify needs, shape support and raise expectations.
Coordinate timely Personal Education Plan meetings, monitor agreed actions and prepare reports for children in care reviews.
Liaise effectively with pupils, carers, virtual schools, partner settings and external agencies to provide coordinated support and smooth transitions.
Lead and manage the children in care support staff and oversee the appropriate use and tracking of Pupil Premium Plus funding.

The Designated Teacher will bring people together around each child, strengthening teaching, monitoring progress and turning plans into effective support.
