Design Technology Technician Grade 3 SCP 6 - 11, £25,989- £28,142 per annum Actual Salary: £22,255 - £24,863 (dependent on continuous service & experience) Full time, 36 hours 40 minutes per week Term Time only plus 5 days Permanent We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Design Technology Technician to join our vibrant Technology Department at an outstanding school. This is an exciting and varied role, providing technical support to both staff and pupils and contributing to a creative and dynamic learning environment. You will play a key part in supporting teaching and learning by:
- Preparing materials and equipment for lessons
- Assisting teachers and students in practical classroom sessions
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
- Supporting a range of design and technology disciplines We are looking for someone who:
- Holds an NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in a related subject, or has equivalent experience
- Has experience using engineering equipment and machinery, including centre lathes, pillar drills, band and circular saws
- Has knowledge of, or experience with, CAD/CAM systems (or a willingness to learn)
- Understands health and safety requirements within a D&T environment
- Is confident using ICT to support tasks and record-keeping
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with staff and students
