Full Job Description
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic technician to join our small team. The successful candidate will have experience of working within a Design and Technology classroom or be willing to learn. The post involves supporting the Design and Technology department in the delivery of teaching, by maintaining stock, preparing resources, cleaning and clearing away lesson materials as directed by teaching staff and department needs. The post holder is required to have DATA certification for the machinery used in college- this is arranged as part of the employment if the candidate is not already in possession of certification., The start date is Wednesday 1st July 2026. The closing date for applications is midday on Monday 11th May 2026 and interviews will be held week commencing 18th May. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. The successful applicant will be a team player, organised, with good time management skills, and possess a good sense of humour.
The hours of work will be 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. The specific days and working hours are flexible within the needs of the timetable and availability of the successful candidate. This role is term time only, 38 working weeks per year. The pay band for the role is Scale 3 (scp 6 to 7), which is £25,989 to £26,403. The actual salary for the role (inclusive of holiday pay) is £11,720.23 to £11,881.89, (under 5 years' service) or £11906.93 to £12,071.16 (over 5 years' service).
