As a Design Technology teacher , you will play a vital role in securing high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes within the DT department. Working closely with departmental colleagues and under the direction of subject leaders, you will deliver an ambitious Design Technology curriculum that supports strong progress and attainment for all scholars. You will be a highly effective and reflective classroom practitioner, fostering a scholarly culture within Design Technology that is rooted in high expectations, intellectual curiosity and consistently strong classroom practice. Through informed planning, effective assessment and responsive teaching, you will support pupils to achieve excellent outcomes across all key stages. This role is ideal for a committed and resilient Design Technology teacher who upholds the highest professional standards, models Astrea values and is driven to deliver high-quality Mathematics education and life-changing opportunities for young people.,
- Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons that secure strong progress and outcomes for all scholars, using a range of effective teaching strategies and approaches.
- Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour, engagement and aspiration.
- Use assessment and performance data effectively to monitor progress, set targets, and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.
- Contribute to academy improvement planning, curriculum development and the wider life of the academy, working collaboratively with colleagues.
- Support inclusive practice by meeting the needs of scholars from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities and behaviours.
- Uphold and promote the values, policies and professional standards of Ernulf Academy and Astrea Academy Trust. Accountable for:
- Progress and outcomes for all scholars in Design Technology, ensuring sustained progress and strong attainment through high-quality teaching and effective assessment.
- Planning and delivery of a high-quality DT curriculum, aligned with national curriculum requirements and responsive to scholars' starting points and needs.
- High standards of classroom practice, behaviour and safety, creating a purposeful and well-managed learning environment that promotes practical excellence and positive attitudes to learning.
- Professional conduct and contribution to the wider academy, including collaboration with colleagues, reflective practice and commitment to ongoing professional development Why Join Us?
