Our client is seeking an ambitious and innovative Head of Design & Technology to join an established independent school in Somerset from April. This is a full-time leadership role, ideal for a strong DT practitioner with the vision and drive to lead a successful department. The successful candidate will oversee the strategic development of Design & Technology across KS3, KS4 & KS5, ensuring high standards of teaching, curriculum innovation, and strong student outcomes. You will lead on curriculum planning, assessment, departmental development, and staff mentoring, while maintaining your own teaching timetable within your DT specialism (e.g. Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering). The department benefits from excellent workshop facilities, modern equipment, CAD/CAM resources, and strong technical support. Leadership within the school is highly supportive and values creativity, academic rigour, and professional development. • Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)
• Strong subject knowledge within Design & Technology
• Experience teaching to KS4 & KS5
• Previous leadership experience or readiness to step into a Head of Department role
