Guidant Global is recruiting for a Design Quality Engineer to join Airbus UK at its Broughton site. You will work within the Quality Engineering Airframe Wing organisation, primarily supporting Quality Performance activities across all programmes. The position provides the opportunity to work closely with Engineering teams and suppliers across Europe, America and Asia. This role will place you at the centre of quality improvement activity. You will help resolve quality issues, lead continuous improvement projects and establish effective measurement standards. Your work will support improved process performance, product compliance, reliability and repeatability from the initial design phase and throughout the product lifecycle. What You Will Be Doing The Quality Engineering Wing team is responsible for deploying the Quality Strategy across the Engineering Wing organisations. This is achieved through Quality Improvement Projects and Plans that support the delivery of Engineering Wing quality targets. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and delivering improvement projects to support the achievement of Engineering Wing quality targets.
- Facilitating and supporting root cause analysis and practical problem-solving activities.
- Establishing and driving corrective and preventive action plans to improve engineering quality performance and associated deliverables.
- Identifying risks and issues affecting the quality of engineering deliverables.
- Facilitating, supporting and driving standardised mitigation plans to prevent or reduce risks associated with products and related processes.
- Supporting the deployment of Quality standards across the Engineering organisation.
- Capturing lessons learned to improve organisational efficiency and product maturity., The standard working week is 35 hours, worked across 4.5 days between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm. Exact working hours will be agreed at the discretion of the business. No travel is required for this position. Why Consider This Role? - Relevant Quality and/or Engineering experience.
- Project management knowledge.
- An understanding of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques, such as 9S and 8D.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of a management structure.
- The ability to learn quickly and approach your workload with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong IT skills appropriate to the role, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Desirable Experience and Skills
- Previous Airbus experience.
- Programme management experience.
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management systems.
- An understanding of engineering drawings and modification management.
- Experience within a Design or Manufacturing Engineering environment.
- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing in German.
- Programming experience using JavaScript, Google Apps Script or Python. A strong graduate with a few years of relevant experience may also be considered.
Practical experience is valued over formal qualifications for this position. Engineering experience is essential, together with an understanding of Quality and Design. Previous experience within aviation or manufacturing would be particularly relevant. Essential Experience and Skills
