Design Manager

We're looking for a Design Manager to join our Hogsmill STW team based in Kingston Upon Thames., Location: Kingston Upon ThamesHours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Join us as a Design Manager supporting the delivery of the major Hogsmill Sewage Treatment Works project for Thames Water. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design process throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design solutions are safe, compliant, coordinated, buildable and sustainable. You'll be working within a Tier 1 contractor environment, coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and stakeholders to achieve programme, cost, quality and handover objectives on a project that strengthens resilience and protects the environment.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Manager, you'll be working within the Hogsmill STW team, supporting them in delivering compliant, effective and sustainable design solutions. Your day to day will include:

-Leading the design process across all project stages, coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and managing deliverables to agreed milestones

-Implementing design reviews, buildability assessments and stage-gate assurance, maintaining records and audit trails

-Managing design risks, change control and technical queries, assessing impacts on safety, scope, cost and programme

-Building effective relationships with clients, designers, suppliers and regulators, communicating progress and decisions

-Supporting value engineering, commercial change and sustainability considerations, promoting innovation and continuous improvement

You have a degree, HND or equivalent qualification in civil, electrical, mechanical or process engineering, or demonstrable equivalent experience

-You have demonstrable experience working within the water industry, with an understanding of water and wastewater capital delivery

-You have proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and consultants within contractor-led construction or infrastructure projects

-You have experience managing design delivery, assurance, programmes, interfaces, risk and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle

-You hold membership of a relevant professional institution and a Full driving licence where required
