Design Manager

We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Senior Design Manager, based at a suitable location within our Northern Region with flexible working available. Are you an experienced Senior Design Manager ready to drive the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects? At MWH Treatment, our design leaders play a critical role in shaping innovative, sustainable solutions that help deliver safer, smarter, and more resilient water services for our customers and communities. We are looking for a Senior Design Manager to provide leadership across the design lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, technically robust, and buildable solutions are developed and delivered. Working across a portfolio of major projects, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, influence project outcomes, and drive collaboration to ensure designs meet client requirements, programme objectives, and regulatory standards.,

• Leading engineering and design delivery across a portfolio of projects, from scope definition through to handover.
• Making sure designs meet health and safety, quality, technical, environmental, sustainability and governance requirements.
• Working closely with designers, technical specialists, suppliers, construction teams and clients to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Managing design plans, deliverables, risks, decisions, change control and monthly reporting.
• Supporting a culture of open communication, constructive challenge, shared learning and continuous improvement., At MWH Treatment, Design Management is central to the successful delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. As a Senior Design Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, shape project outcomes and drive the delivery of safe, sustainable and buildable solutions that make a real difference to customers, communities and the environment.
• Lead the design delivery of strategically important water and wastewater projects.
• Influence key project decisions across design, construction and commissioning phases.
• Work in a collaborative design-and-build environment alongside experienced engineering and delivery teams.
• Develop your leadership skills through managing multidisciplinary teams and mentoring future talent.
• Be part of a business focused on safety, sustainability, innovation and delivering lasting value for customers and communities.
  
  Essential:
• Extensive multidisciplinary design-management experience, ideally in a design-build environment.
• An engineering degree and Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional standing.
• Strong knowledge of construction health and safety, CDM, design assurance and large-scale project delivery.
• Experience in the water or wastewater sector would be highly beneficial.
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach and the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
