Design Manager

We're looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our Southern Water Services team based in Falmer, Brighton / Chatham, Kent / Chichester, West Sussex., Location: Falmer, Brighton / Chatham, Kent / Chichester, West SussexHours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead engineering design delivery across a major framework partnership. Kier has been appointed by Southern Water Services to their £3.1bn Strategic Development Partnership Framework for AMP8. You'll be at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions across water and wastewater treatment projects, working on schemes that improve water safety, quality, recycling, and resilience for millions of households.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Design Manager, you'll be working within the Southern Water Services team, supporting them in delivering strategic planning, design, and construction management services. Your day to day will include:

-Leading and managing engineering design delivery for assigned projects across the portfolio

-Line managing Design Managers, supporting their professional development and ensuring consistent delivery

-Providing expert engineering support from project definition through to construction, commissioning and handover

-Collaborating with engineering discipline leads to ensure optimal design methodologies and foster innovation

-Managing supplier and subcontractor design input, ensuring integration and alignment with project goals

You hold Chartered Engineer status with a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline

-You have proven experience in engineering design, construction and management

-You have strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes

-You can communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences

-You hold a Full driving licence
