Role As the Design Manager in construction, you will be working as part of an established, successful Design team. You will lead the design process, promote integration of multiple disciplines, and select, manage and appoint consultants to ensure they perform in line with their deed and agreed scope of services. You will be responsible as the Construction Design Manager for monitoring and reporting on design programmes, whilst also providing technical support to the bid process. You will be managing multiple construction projects at various stages from tender stage, live projects through to practical completion., Key Design Manager responsibilities include:
• Chair design team meetings and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Lead the design process to produce accurate technical information in line with agreed specifications and cost plans
• Produce designs to meet all necessary statutory and regulatory approvals including Building Regulations
• Develop comprehensive design programmes with external consultants to meet agreed whole life programme dates
• Appoint and manage design consultants, ensuring performance aligns with their professional deed and agreed scope of services
• Provide cost-effective technical solutions and value engineering opportunities
• Support preconstruction activities and tender submissions
