Your Role As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing electrical design and integration support for new systems and equipment across maritime platforms. You'll be involved in the full design lifecycle, from early feasibility studies to detailed electrical design and installation documentation.
Core Responsibilities Develop Installation Design Solutions, including Electrical/System Drawings, Cable Routes, Data Sheets, and Bills of Materials.
Collaborate with MoD Customers and Industry Partners to establish Equipment Integration Requirements.
Conduct Ship Surveys to support Design Integration, Material State Reports, Configuration Control, and Power Load Charts.
Configure and maintain Ship Databases for Electrical Power Distribution and Blown Fibre Networks.
Produce Ship and Equipment Feasibility Studies.
Work closely with in-house Mechanical, Structural, HVAC, and Project Management Teams.
Engage with Industry Partners and Technical Authorities.
Support detailed design activities for Ship-build and Submarine electrical systems.
Provide technical input to ensure Product Safety of Design Services deliverables., About Our Team Our Design Services Electrical Team is a diverse group of engineers, including industry professionals, Armed Forces Service Leavers, and graduates from our BAE Apprenticeship Schemes. Together, we provide comprehensive electrical engineering support to the Royal Naval Surface Fleet, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, and Submarine Platforms.

Essential Skills Strong knowledge of Electrical Systems theory.
Ability to interpret and apply Electrical Design Standards.
Familiarity with Electrical Installation Practices and Electrical Distribution Systems.
Proficiency in CAD/Engineering Drawing Toolsets.
ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
