Dermatology Surgical HCA

We are currently seeking experienced Dermatology Surgical Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support weekend insourcing clinics, helping deliver NHS waiting list initiatives across a range of dermatology services. This is an excellent opportunity to join experienced teams delivering high-quality patient care within busy outpatient settings, supporting clinicians and patients throughout their clinic journey., Responsibilities include supporting with:

• Pre-operative assessment
• Preparing for dermatological surgery
• Intra-operative assistance
+ Assist the dermatologist, dermatological surgeon or other clinician during procedures such as: o Skin biopsies o Excision of skin lesions o Curettage and cautery o Punch biopsies o Minor skin cancer procedures o Mohs surgery, where applicable + Maintain aseptic technique and a safe sterile field. + Handle instruments and specimens appropriately. + Monitor the patients condition and provide reassurance throughout the procedure. + Recognise and respond promptly to complications
