Deputy Theatre Technician
required for May 2026 (to be discussed at interview)
Salary Range - NSB Support Staff 8-10 - (current £26,824-£27,694)
Full Time - 37 hours per week / 52 weeks (26 days holiday allowance)
hours to be taken flexibly according to the Theatre Schedule

Cripps Hall Theatre is part of Northampton School for Boys - recognised as 'Secondary School of the Year' at the Northamptonshire Education Awards and 'Comprehensive School of the Year' in the East Midlands for 2025 - the third time we have secured this honour in The Times and The Sunday Times 'Best Schools' Guide' based on our outstanding GCSE and A level results.
The Cripps Theatre team at Northampton School for Boys is a group of inspiring individuals who are committed to offering an outstanding experience to all who use our spaces. As part of the Theatre Team, you will have the opportunity to assist with and run a variety of event. These will include theatrical performances, dance shows, exams, assemblies, presentations, lectures and a variety of other events within the school calendar.
We are looking for an Deputy Theatre Technician with an understanding of a range of technical theatre skills including AV, set construction, costume, sound and lighting. The successful applicant must have effective communication skills, a proactive work ethos and be a highly motivated professional with the ability to work well as part of a team.
