Full Job Description
The Trust is embarking on an exciting period of change as we implement Scan4Safety across a number of key wards and departments at the Trust, initially at Westmorland General Hospital. The implementation of Scan4Safety will re-shape the role of logistics and supply chain across the local health economy to ensure the service is fit for purpose, in line with best practice and can deliver value and customer satisfaction in a sustainable manner. The One Lancashire and South Cumbria Procurement Department is hosted by East Lancashire NHS Trust but staff are based across the region. The vision is to deliver an excellent procurement and logistics service, with the key focus on continuous improvement, and delivery of value for money to include savings, efficiencies and improvement of outcomes for patients. This post is based within University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust and reports to the Logistics & Supply Chain Manager., This is a pivotal role within the Logistics and Supply Chain structure, which will provide support for the exciting rollout of Scan4Safety across three main hospital sites, commencing at Westmorland General Hospital. The role will include: · supporting the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager in providing an effective, efficient and professional internal supply chain service to all stakeholders. · providing leadership and support to all NHS Supply Chain and Ingenica system users across the Trust and provide day to day management to the Corporate Operations Supply Chain Team. · holding Super User rights to the Stock Management Systems, and provide training support services to the Supply Chain Operations Team, The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent qualification. Desirable criteria
- CIPS/CILT or equivalent relevant experience
- Supervisory/management qualification, Purchasing and/or logistics / supply chain experience including team management at a Trust or large organisation with a varied portfolio Desirable criteria
- Risk Management and Health & Safety awareness
- Experience of NHS Supply Chain stock control, Excellent IM&T Skills (Word/Excel/Powerpoint).
- Understanding of EU Procurement Law
- Significant team working (incl. leading) experience
- Strong purchasing and supply chain expertise
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to effectively influence and persuade people Desirable criteria
- Experience of NHS
- Experience of government/public sector
- Knowledge of inventory/supply chain management systems, Effective organisational, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Good motivator and a positive attitude towards change and development
- Ability to cope under pressure
- Ability to communicate at all levels
