With major national reform to civil registration services and significant local transformation programmes underway, we are offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced registration professional to take the next step in their career. As a Deputy Superintendent Registrar, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality statutory services, while helping to shape how modern, customer-focused registration services evolve in the largest and busiest district in the country. About the Role

  • Deliver statutory registration functions across births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships and citizenship ceremonies.
  • Act as an officiant, ensuring all legal preliminaries are met and as a celebrant at non-binding ceremonies.
  • Lead and supervise teams across ceremonies and certificate services.
  • Provide expert advice on complex and sensitive registration matters.
  • Oversee financial controls, statutory records, and secure documentation processes.
  • Support service improvement and digital transformation programmes.

    Substantial experience within a registration district and strong legislative knowledge.
  • Experience supervising staff and delivering training.
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure, customer-facing environments.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately, prioritise effectively, and lead by example.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and inclusive service delivery.
