Full Job Description
The Respiratory Support & Sleep Centre (4N) is a specialist 15-bedded ward dedicated to the care and management of patients with sleep and respiratory disorders. The ward includes 3 high dependency beds supporting patients requiring weaning from invasive ventilation. We also provide ongoing follow-up care within our 10-bedded day case ward.
We are proud to be one of the largest units in the UK providing non-invasive ventilation (NIV) for patients with lung disease and neuromuscular disorders. Our service currently supports more than 1,500 patients on long-term home ventilation.
At the heart of everything we do are our patients, their comfort, and the quality of care we provide. We are continually striving to innovate and enhance the services we deliver., As Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge Nurse, you will:
Provide clinical leadership and support the delivery of high-quality nursing care
Act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner
Support the day-to-day management of the ward
Undertake delegated responsibility for the unit
Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge Nurse to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced respiratory nurse to develop leadership and ward management skills within a specialist and supportive environment., The successful candidate will:
Be a registered nurse with post-registration experience in respiratory nursing
Have experience managing patients requiring invasive and non-invasive ventilation
Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and clinical skills
Be flexible, adaptable, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care
Ideally have experience in home NIV therapy
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic nurse looking to further develop their leadership capability within a highly specialised respiratory service.
