We are looking for a Deputy Sister for our Children's Day Ward. The Children's Day Ward (CDW) provides care and treatment to a range of patients; from those requiring medical day case treatment, such as chemotherapy, specialist infusions, and bloods and cannulation; to elective surgeries and for pre-assessment.. Ensuring that patient safety is at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, overseeing and delivering a high standard of care to our Children's Day Unit. The post holder will also be responsible for supporting with the safe staffing, governance and service development. If you share our passion for providing best possible care to children and their parents when they need it the most and want to work in a team which consistently strives to provide every patient with the care we want for those we love most then we would like to hear from you.Main duties of the job The candidate would work within the CDW team providing care and treatments to a range of patients requiring medical or surgical interventions. This opportunity would allow the successful candidate to work on a nurse led department where the team hold extensive specialist knowledge and skills, and it would allow the candidate to become experts in specialist skills, such as chemotherapy and cannulation. The successful candidate would work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide care and specialist treatment to a range of patients, but specially building professional relationships with some of our long-term patients and their families. The candidate would need to be willing to develop their knowledge and skills and undertake further training, if skills were not held already.
