Following the promotion of the current Deputy SENDCo, to the SENDCO position, we are looking to appoint a passionate, committed and knowledgeable colleague to our SEND team.
Adaption is a key focus for our school and the Trust and our staff work collaboratively within the trust to continue to develop high-quality teaching and learning in the classroom. We aspire over 2026 and 2027 to upskill all teaching staff to be "teachers of everyone."
It is expected that the post-holder will have previous SEND experience. They will be able to demonstrate interest in all aspects of SEND, the new Code of Practice, and the likely impact of recent government white papers. They will have an understanding of the importance of working in close partnership with parents and other professionals, and a strong commitment to removing barriers to learning and building the skills for success for every child.
The successful candidate will have a 50% teaching load to allow them to be focused on raising outcomes and support for our SEND cohort. Candidates who are experienced teachers of science, English of mathematics are particularly sought-after.
The role will include deputising for the SENDCo, leading on areas of SEND provision, working with identified groups of learners across the school, and working with staff in the school and across the trust, to ensure that children are given all the support they need to reach their potential.
The successful candidate must be willing to complete the National SENDCO Award (funded by the school) within three years of appointment., The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
