Deputy Medical Education Manager

Provide specialist knowledge and advice and guidance on all aspects of the Resident Doctors Contract (2016) to trainees, trainers and managers, monitoring all current legislations and relevant policies and/or procedures as identified by the organisation.

To work with the Director of Medical Education, Medical Education Manager and Speciality Training, Care Group and College Tutors to ensure that the provision of a high-quality speciality training programme that meets GMC, and HEE standards, supported by in-depth knowledge of the speciality curriculums.

To work with the Medical Education Manager to ensure evidence and systems are in place for robust reporting and educational governance and HEE quality assurance and other external bodies as required.

Deputise for the Medical Education Manager on matters of Speciality Medical Education, Resident Doctors Contract (2016), Management of DiT Rotas and Medical Education Governance and cross cover for the other Deputy Medical Education Manager.

To provide management of the Medical Education Administration team for day to day and operational duties including providing specialist, efficient and professional advice and support to trainees and trainers.

You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to establish strong working relationships with colleagues, resident doctors, medical professionals and other NHS staff. This is an excellent opportunity to use your proven project management experience, change strategies and organisational skills to manage the efficient delivery of curricula and ensure the provision of a high-quality Medical Education.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
