Deputy Manager - South Oxon Older Adults CMHT

An opportunity has arisen within the South Oxon Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (OACMHT) for a professional and dedicated Deputy Team Manager. We are seeking a skilled and experienced, full time registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with Older Adults and wants to make a difference in the services we provide. We want you to join our senior leadership team to support our staff and patients. We are a friendly, supportive and proactive team with a culture of high standards of care and any successful applicant will need to be committed to maintaining this. The team works closely with a wide range of internal and external partner's including GPs, district nursing, therapy services, ambulatory care, social care and physical and mental health inpatient providers. We aim to deliver well-coordinated patient care and to share our respective skills and knowledge with one another. Our team covers a wide geographical area bordering Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire and so is ideally placed for staff commuting from Swindon, Reading and Aylesbury. Our main office is in Abingdon, but we have a base in Wallingford and hot desking space for staff covering those areas., As Deputy Team Manager you will be a leader and provide line management and supervision to other experienced clinicians. Working as part of the Senior Leadership team you will support the Team Manager with Service development and we offer training opportunities to help you grow and master skills. Holding a complex caseload will allow you to lead by example and still have that important patient contact whilst developing your management skills. We take pride in working with our patients and so we want you to have a caring and committed attitude with a strong understanding of the needs of older adults with a variety of mental health needs. The MDT is made up of Medical, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Psychology colleagues and we highly regard one another's professional background and contribution to the care of our patients. We view supervision as fundamental to the functioning of the team both clinically and in terms of the well being of our staff. The Older Adult Community Mental health teamwork is demanding, complex and diverse but we are a small, cohesive team who are committed to supporting each other and we enjoy what we do!
