Full Job Description

Duties include:

  • Managing Garden Centre people resources
  • Forward planning of work schedule
  • Daily resource management to support effective customer service requirements
  • Deployment of the team to deliver excellent shop floor standards
  • Managing cash/till operations
  • Operational Audit for compliance in those areas
  • Key holder responsibilities to assist with opening and closing of the centres

  • We are looking for a Deputy Garden Centre Manager to join our forward-thinking team. Working in the Garden Centre this is a high-volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should have proven managerial experience and be physically fit as this is a very hands-on role and some heavy lifting may be required. A knowledge of plants would be nice to have, as is, excellent customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising is required as is previous retail management experience.,
  • Horticultural experience essential
  • An inspirational leader for Centre staff ensuring that they receive clear direction and performance management within a culture of coaching and mentoring.
  • Highly commercial and results driven with a proven track record in a management position.
  • Positive and strong communicator and a skilled motivational people manager.
  • Accountable for providing great customer service and have a keen eye for detail around the consumers' experience in the Centre.
  • A solution orientated thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
