Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker looking for a "step up", or an existing Deputy Manager, to join our new residential mental health service in Camberley, Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something from the ground up, helping to shape the culture, values, and practice of a brand new service that will make a real difference to people's lives. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care in a structured and therapeutic environment. You will support individuals with complex mental health needs, helping them to achieve positive outcomes on their recovery journey. How often does the chance come along to build a service from scratch, rather than inherit one? As a new service, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to its establishment and development - influencing care practices, building a strong team, and helping to embed a positive culture from day one. If you have the experience and the ambition, we would love to hear from you.,

  • Support the Registered Manager in the operational leadership of the service, including staffing, compliance, and quality assurance
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to the care team, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment
  • Ensure care is delivered in line with CQC regulations, Nouvita's policies, and relevant legislation including the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
  • Oversee the development and review of individual care and support plans, ensuring they are person-centred, outcome-focused, and regularly updated
  • Act as deputy in the absence of the Registered Manager, taking responsibility for the smooth running of the service
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with service users and their families
  • Contribute to the recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of staff
  • Support the safe management of medication, risk assessments, and safeguarding processes
  • Assist in preparing for and responding to CQC inspections and regulatory requirements

Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, ideally within a residential, forensic, or similar specialist setting
  • A strong understanding of mental health and substance misuse issues
  • Previous leadership, senior support worker, team leader, or supervisory experience within a care environment
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • A genuine commitment to promoting dignity, independence, recovery, and positive outcomes
  • The willingness to undertake additional responsibilities
  • A supportive and experienced management team
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Career progression within a growing organisation
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of people living with complex mental health needs
  • A friendly, highly skilled, and enthusiastic team environment
