Full Job Description
Are you an ambitious and inspirational school leader with a passion for driving excellence in teaching and learning and improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Renaissance Education is seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of education and helping every pupil achieve their full potential.
Working in close partnership with the Headteacher, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring high-quality teaching, effective assessment and ambitious educational expectations are embedded throughout our specialist therapeutic school. You will champion an inclusive and personalised approach to education, ensuring pupils receive the support, challenge and opportunities they need to make meaningful progress.
As a key leader, you will oversee teaching and learning, assessment, pupil progress and professional development. Through classroom observations, learning walks, work scrutiny and analysis of assessment information, you will evaluate educational practice, identify strengths and areas for development, and ensure teaching is consistently effective, purposeful and responsive to pupils' individual needs.
You will work alongside teachers and support staff to promote high expectations, positive learning environments and effective assessment practices that support engagement, achievement and progress. Through constructive feedback, coaching and mentoring, you will develop staff confidence and professional practice, fostering a culture of collaboration, reflection and accountability.
You will play a central role in implementing and evaluating the School Development Plan, ensuring strategic priorities translate into meaningful improvements in classroom practice and pupil outcomes. Working collaboratively with colleagues and other leaders, you will ensure educational provision remains evidence-informed and focused on pupils' experiences, achievements and individual needs.
Recognising the complex needs of pupils within a specialist therapeutic setting, you will ensure high educational expectations are balanced with individualised support, therapeutic approaches and a clear understanding of barriers to learning. You will work closely with colleagues, families and external professionals to promote academic progress, engagement, independence and personal development.
As Deputy Headteacher, you will be a visible, credible and approachable leader who inspires confidence, builds strong relationships and empowers colleagues to deliver their best. You will deputise for the Headteacher when required, contribute to strategic decision-making and ensure safeguarding, inclusion, wellbeing and high standards of education underpin school life.
You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking organisation that values its staff, encourages innovation and invests in professional growth. You will benefit from continuous professional development, leadership opportunities, breakfast briefings, relevant training and opportunities to share best practice across a collaborative team.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the quality of education within specialist therapeutic provision, develop outstanding educational practice and make a lasting difference to the lives and futures of our pupils.
Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding and child-centred practice throughout the recruitment process and during their employment with Renaissance Education.
