This is an exciting new opportunity to support in leading the Business Intelligence teams within the Performance & Informatics (P&I) portfolio, working as part of the Senior Manager Team and supporting the portfolio and organisation to deliver high quality patient care. The P&I portfolio encompasses Business Intelligence & Informatics, Corporate Performance, Information Systems Development, Analytical Development, Clinical Coding, Data Quality, Data Solutions, Ward Clerks, Patient Access and RTT.
Data is one of the most important assets of any organisation. Business Intelligence capabilities are instrumental to delivering patient care through driving operational and performance delivery, so this is an exciting opportunity to continue developing and evolving the Business Intelligence culture within the Trust.
P&I work cross functionally to support the Trusts operational delivery of both national and internal targets which ensures the highest standards of patient care are delivered.
New opportunities at a national level are being developed by P&I in areas of health inequality, waiting list management, automation and system working. Most notably working innovatively to develop the 'Health Equity and the Right to Treatment' (HEARTT) tool which culminated in being awarded the 'Innovation and Improvement in Reducing Healthcare Inequalities Award 2022' and the 'Best Healthcare Analytics for the NHS 2023' at the prestigious Health Service Journal Awards.

+ Deputise for any other member of P&I's Senior Management Team when required.
+ Build relationships with service users/clients and develop service improvement plans based on user discussion and SLAs.
+ To lead on current and future Trust reporting needs utilising the technology available locally and technological advances.
+ Regularly evaluate the level of support provided by the team and continuously refine our approach to meet individual needs of each care Group/Directorate within the structure of the wider Business Intelligence strategy.
+ Ensure business continuity and resilience in support of Groups/Directorates.
+ To ensure that the Trust uses sophisticated analysis techniques and performance management to monitor and report on progress against targets and identify where improvements can be achieved ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services can take place.
+ Lead on the research, development and management of technologies and innovations to best facilitate greater utilisation of Trust information by all end users and demonstrating the benefits of new hardware and software technologies to support the operational, business and management aspects of the Trust.
+ Support and promote continuous evaluation of existing services and develop alternatives that offer greater benefits through effective collaboration., + Deputise for the Head of Business Intelligence when required.
+ Deputise for any other member of P&I's Senior Management Team when required.
+ Work strategically and collaboratively with the other Heads and Deputy Heads of Service within P&I.
+ Ensure database maintenance including effective co-ordination and communication with a range of organisations and individuals.
+ Build relationships with service users/clients and develop service improvement plans based on user discussion and SLAs.
+ To lead on current and future Trust reporting needs utilising the technology available locally and technological advances.
+ Regularly evaluate the level of support provided by the team and continuously refine our approach to meet individual needs of each care Group/Directorate within the structure of the wider Business Intelligence strategy.

+ Promote analysis of need, and an ongoing search for appropriate responses that are innovative in their design and implementation.
+ Establish excellent relationships with clinical staff, leaders and external stakeholders, promoting joint working with health economy partners and other agencies.
+ To work with all members of the wider P&I team and other teams responsible for Performance to ensure that all areas of Performance are monitored effectively and consistently.
+ To deliver training and engagement exercises with a wide range of staff to identify need and support users in making best use of BI.
+ Effectively present performance insights to a wide range of staffing as required.
+ Develop constructive working relationships with Group/Directorate management and clinical teams to ensure that a performance focused culture through assurance of safety, quality and effectiveness.
+ To clearly articulate and 'translate' the methodology and output of the departments work.
+ Make and support others in making highly complex business judgements involving facts or situations that require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options (for example as part of development of business cases).
+ Exercise sound judgment in the analysis of complex issues, providing realistic options for improvement.
+ Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of specific tasks/projects by undertaking complex and detailed information analysis, communications and stakeholder management.
+ Lead, monitor, mentor, coach and support the Business Intelligence teams through appraisal, regular supervision, identifying training needs and sharing knowledge and experience to help develop the competency of others and encouraging and developing teamwork.
+ Monitor budget and project budgets (processing, invoices and procurement).
+ Take a lead role in interpreting guidance in areas of key responsibility and implement key policy/guidance initiatives.
+ Undertake any internal or external training courses required by the role, as well as mandatory training in line with UHCW policy.
+ Ensure that the team's working environment is safe, kept clean, tidy and fit for purpose.
+ Be aware of, and abide by, Trust policies across the whole business.
+ Managerial responsibility for the Senior BI & Performance Analysts in line with Trust policy and protocols.
+ To cascade knowledge/skills and maintain/evolve the training framework with any new techniques and technologies as necessary.
+ Work alongside the Head of Business Intelligence and other senior members of the Business Intelligence teams as well as the wider Performance & Informatics teams to assess and develop improved working practices.
+ Develop work plans for the Business Intelligence teams including agreeing, defining and scheduling tasks, and identifying resources.
+ Conduct appraisals and personal reviews and work with colleagues to achieve agreed set objectives.
+ Ensure that systematic and appropriate communication strategies are in place within the team so that staff can respond quickly to changes as required.
