Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and values-driven senior operational leader to join our Divisional Team as Deputy Divisional Head of Operations. This is a key leadership role within the Division, supporting the Divisional Director of Operations to deliver high-quality, safe and efficient services for patients, while driving performance, workforce sustainability and financial balance., As Deputy Divisional Head of Operations, you will play a central role in the day-to-day operational performance of the Division, ensuring delivery against national and local access standards and supporting Directorates to achieve their people, performance and financial objectives. You will deputise for the Divisional Director of Operations as required and act as a highly visible senior leader, working closely with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues to deliver divisional priorities and contribute to the wider Trust strategy.,
- Providing senior operational leadership to ensure delivery of safe, effective and efficient patient care
- Leading and overseeing performance against key access targets including RTT, Cancer, 4-hour standards and elective recovery
- Supporting development and delivery of the Divisional Business Plan, transformation programmes and quality improvement initiatives
- Playing a lead role in workforce planning, recruitment, retention and engagement, ensuring sustainable and resilient services
- Working collaboratively with Finance, HR and Performance teams to deliver financial balance and productivity improvements
- Supporting the clinical governance agenda, ensuring compliance with CQC and regulatory standards
- Acting as a role model for compassionate, inclusive and values-based leadership
- Representing the Division at Trust-wide meetings and committees and participating in the on-call rota as required
Educated to first degree level or equivalent experience - Further training to Masters level or equivalent experience., Previous successful management experience at a senior level within the NHS
- Highly developed leadership and organisational skills
- Highly developed specialist knowledge of NHS policy, health sector practices and functions of NHS provider organisations and current targets in place
- Clear understanding of NHS agenda
- High level of understanding of NHS contracting and funding flows
- Proven track record of senior operational management in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Extensive experience of influencing decision making within a large and complex organisation, Demonstrates ability to analyse complex facts or situations in relation to performance targets, strategy, finance
- Proven track record of managing operating budgets and delivering financial balance
- Experience of implementing and evaluating a range of projects/initiatives that represent solutions to changing workforce/service environments
- Takes decisions on difficult and contentious issues where there may be a number of courses of action.
- Strategic thinking - ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise.
- Ability to plan and organise a broad range of complex activities, formulating and adjusting plans to reflect changing circumstances.
- Ability to work on own initiative and organise workload, allocating work as necessary.

- Advanced problem solving and decision making skills with the use of analysis and interpretation of highly complex information to decide on the best way forward for the Division

- Experience of formulating long term strategic plans and ,impact on the organisation - translating business strategy into operational delivery
- Proven track record of developing successful business plans and strategy for planning activity
- Experience of managing organisational change including working with clinical & non clinical staff to change team structures and ways of working
- Confident in presenting complex information to wide and varied audience both internal and external to the organisation
- Advanced keyboard skills and the ability to spend extended periods of time absorbing and analysing complex data, writing reports and presenting information in different formats for different audiences.
