Full Job Description

The Deputy Director of Performance and Insights will play a key role in delivering outstanding care across St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group (gesh). The role is responsible for leading the Group's performance management framework, regulatory assurance processes, and performance reporting.

The post holder will oversee the development of reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators across operational performance, quality, safety, activity, and workforce. Working closely with operational, transformation, and business intelligence teams, they will ensure reporting provides meaningful insight into current and future performance.

The role includes interpreting national guidance and targets, supporting effective organisational policies and processes, leading aspects of the annual planning cycle and Quality Management System deployment, and ensuring accurate performance data submissions, including SitReps.The post holder will deputise for the Group Director of Performance and PMO when required, line manage staff, and provide leadership and stakeholder engagement to support improvement across gesh.

Main duties of the job

Lead and oversee the Group's performance management framework, external reporting, and delivery of organisational performance priorities.

Develop and produce high-quality performance reports, forecasts, and insights for the Board, committees, and operational teams.

Lead the development of a gesh-wide performance culture, providing training and support to managers and clinicians on performance improvement and data use.

Ensure the accuracy, consistency, quality, and timely submission of internal and external performance data and statutory returns.

Provide leadership and line management for the performance reporting team, including workforce planning, staff development, and service quality assurance.

Build effective relationships with clinicians, operational leads, NHS partners, and external stakeholders to support performance improvement and data quality across the organisation., At gesh we are committed to supporting flexible working arrangements.
