Deputy Director Data and Intelligence - Population Health Improvement

Experteer Overview In this senior role, you will shape a modern data and intelligence strategy across a large health system. You will lead cross-functional analytics teams and partners to embed data-driven decision making in population health, commissioning, and service transformation. You'll manage data platforms and cloud-based capabilities to deliver high-quality healthcare insights. The position offers strategic influence during system-wide transformation within an 8 billion annual budget, with a focus on reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes. • Develop and deliver a modern data and intelligence strategy for the cluster Lead multidisciplinary teams of analysts, data scientists, engineers and intelligence professionals Ensure data and insights sit at the heart of decision-making across the health and care system Collaborate with executive leaders, NHS providers, local authorities, public health, primary care, voluntary sector, and academia Oversee data platforms, cloud-based solutions and advanced analytics to enable high-quality, efficient healthcare Support population health management, service redesign and strategic commissioning through insights Promote evidence-based decision making and a culture of listening and learning Tasks Significant senior-level experience leading data, analytics or intelligence functions in a complex organisation Experience developing data strategies and delivering large-scale analytical programmes Expertise in data science, BI, analytics, data engineering or related disciplines Experience working with executive leaders and system partners to inform strategic decisions Strong understanding of NHS data governance, information standards and data quality Experience with modern data platforms, cloud technologies and advanced analytics Ability to inspire, develop and lead high-performing teams Commitment to improving outcomes and reducing health inequalities through data Master's level education or equivalent experience with strategic vision and communication skills Key requirements flexible working competitive salary (Band 8d) employer pension opportunities for development
