Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Cleaning Manager to join our Facilities team and play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and high-quality cleaning services across the Trust. To support the Facilities Manager Cleaning Services (FMCS) in delivering safe, effective, and high-quality cleaning services across the Trust. The role ensures compliance with national standards, supports infection prevention, and contributes to a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The postholder will support the FMCS with the oversight and day to day management of circa 200 WTE cleaning team members, manage resources, training, and service improvement initiatives. Main duties of the job Support the FMCS in ensuring cleaning and decontamination services comply with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021. Assist with the operational management of a large cleaning workforce. Plan and coordinate mobile works teams to support core cleaning operations. Provide attendant services including curtain changing, flushing, HPV/UVC decontamination, and laundry services. Support recruitment and ensure sufficient staffing resources are available. Develop training programmes with the Training & Equipment Lead. Support management of the cleaning budget and identify efficiencies. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve service delivery. Support sustainability and service improvement initiatives. Provide work plans, updates, and reporting to the FMCS. Deputise for the FMCS when required.
