Full Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Deputy Campus Lead to support the Campus Lead in managing a specialist further education campus. This role focuses on delivering high-quality education and support for learners with SEND, SEMH, autism, and associated needs, while leading key operational and pastoral areas. The Deputy Campus Lead will deputise for the Campus Lead as required, helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment. Your role will include:

  • Supporting the Campus Lead in implementing strategic objectives and deputise during their absence to ensure continuity of leadership.
  • Act as a role model, promoting the college's values and vision to staff and learners.
  • Lead on pastoral care, behaviour management, attendance monitoring, and engagement interventions.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring safeguarding policies are followed and liaising with external agencies as required.
  • Assist in monitoring teaching standards, learner progress, and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, data protection, and other statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Campus Lead and Business Operations team to maintain site standards and coordinate exams and assessments.
  • Line manage designated staff, support performance management, and deliver CPD on pastoral care, behaviour, and safeguarding.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external stakeholders, providing regular reports on pastoral, behaviour, and safeguarding matters.
  • Uphold high professional standards, ensuring exemplary conduct, compliance, and resolution of any HR matters.

    Degree in Education or related field and Qualified Teacher Status (or working towards); safeguarding and behaviour management training required.
  • Experience in pastoral leadership, behaviour management, and supporting learners with SEND/SEMH; staff supervision and operational support desirable.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, SEND Code of Practice, and strategies to improve attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with learners, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Empathetic, solution-focused, resilient, adaptable, committed to inclusion, with high expectations for learners and staff.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and valid driving licence, with willingness to travel between sites as needed.

    Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum for a QTS - £30,000 per annum without a QTS (not pro rata) Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am - 4.30pm Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only Eligibility: UK applicants only.
