Are you eager to drive the quality and safety agenda and are you knowledgeable about the antenatal and newborn screening pathways?, With experience related to complex antenatal care, managing fetal abnormalities and neonatal screening programmes, the deputy lead midwife will ensure a high-quality care is provided for women and families in line with national evidence/recommendations. They will also support the implementation and oversight of any additional antenatal screening programmes as determined by the National Screening Committee and national programme standard.
They should ensure that they have a working knowledge of the failsafe processes which prompt recognition and investigation of any missed screening opportunity.
Working autonomously, the deputy specialist midwife will support the day-to-day provision of the antenatal screening services. They must be confident to discuss a large range of screening issues with women, their families, and the multi- professional team (MDT), which will inevitably include difficult and sensitive issues whist offering unbiased, impartial support and enabling informed decision making.
The deputy specialist midwife will also work collaboratively to coordinate the day-to-day provision of the complex fetal medicine cases and third trimester monitoring when complications have arisen.
We are seeking a highly skilled midwife with experience of complex antenatal care who is motivated to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional screening and fetal medicine services to join the team as the deputy antenatal and newborn screening and fetal medicine midwife. This is a band 6 role for 22.5 hours per week.
