Full Job Description
We're looking for a Resilience Technician to join our Highways team and help keep Wiltshire moving, especially during extreme weather. This is a hands-on role where you'll support the day-to-day running of our depots and resilience operations, including gritting routes and emergency planning.
You'll work closely with engineers, contractors, and volunteers to make sure services are delivered safely and efficiently. Your work will include site inspections, route planning, supporting legal claims, and helping to manage depot systems. You'll also represent the service at meetings and help respond to incidents and complaints.
To succeed in this role, you'll need experience in highways, civil engineering, or facilities management. You should be confident working in an operational environment, understand health and safety requirements, and be comfortable managing technical information. You'll need to be organised, a good communicator, and ready to take on a variety of tasks. A full driving licence is essential, as you'll be using a council vehicle daily.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll play a key part in delivering vital services that directly impact the community. If you're practical, adaptable, and ready for a challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
