Depot Operative
Our client, an established equipment hire organisation, is looking for a reliable and organised Depot Operative to join their team in Bradford. This is a hands-on role where you will be central to keeping the warehouse operations running smoothly. Your work will directly ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and that the fleet of equipment is maintained to a high standard. You will manage the receipt and storage of hire equipment, process customer orders with accuracy and help maintain stock quality.
Salary: 28,000 – 30,000 GBP per year

Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, offload, and systematically store hire contract equipment.
- Pick and pack customer orders accurately, maintaining quality throughout.
- Manage outbound despatch, verifying orders and communicating any shortages to the sales team.
- Wash and inspect hoses and fittings to maintain equipment condition.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles to support warehouse operations.
- Undertake stock-takes as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Follow health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and tidy depot.
- Support emergency equipment despatch as part of the on-call rota.
Who They're Looking For:
- A self-starter who can prioritise and organise their own workload.
- A flexible approach to shift patterns, including early starts, late finishes, and on-call availability.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A well-organised individual with practical common sense and initiative.
- Clear verbal communication skills.
- A reliable team player who collaborates well in a fast-paced environment.
- Competent PC skills for warehouse management systems.
- A Counterbalance or Flexi forklift licence is preferred but not essential.
