About the role:

This role provides essential operational support across all parcel activities throughout the working day in Norwich. You will assist with parcel handling operations, support customer care enquiries and carry out general administrative tasks to help ensure the smooth running of daily operations.

Working closely with the wider operations team, you will play an important role in maintaining high service standards, supporting efficient day-to-day activities, and helping InPost Distribution achieve its operational and customer service objectives., Provide support to employed and self-employed delivery resources, ensuring daily activities are delegated and completed efficiently.

Conduct compliance checks and follow company processes for the delivery team, escalating unresolved issues to the Depot Manager. This includes scheduled, unscheduled, and contract collections.

Support the debrief process for delivery resources in line with company procedures.

Deliver excellent customer service at all times, presenting a professional, approachable manner while in uniform.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, drivers, and couriers across Southampton, using effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the Hand Held Terminal (HHT) system used on site.

Perform a variety of administrative duties to support smooth depot operations, including managing reception duties, handling phone and email enquiries, and ensuring internal and external customer queries are resolved promptly and efficiently.

Assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks as directed by the management team, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Support onboarding of new starters, completing HR documentation and ensuring information is accurately recorded in internal systems.

Ensure operational and legal compliance across health and safety, vehicle management, and security to protect the business.

Undertake additional duties as required, supporting both office and warehouse operations using InPost Distribution systems.

Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in word processing and spreadsheets to manage administrative tasks efficiently.

Customer service focused, with a genuine commitment to putting customers first and delivering excellent service.

Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to stay calm and effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
