Dental Nurse (Domiciliary Care)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join the domiciliary team within the Community Dental Service. This Band 4, full-time post offers the opportunity to support the delivery of dental care to a wide range of patients across Powys, including those who may face barriers in accessing traditional clinic-based services.

Working as part of a dedicated and supportive dental team, the postholder will provide support and contribute to the safe, effective delivery of care. This is a varied and rewarding role which will suit someone who enjoys working flexibly, building positive relationships, and making a real difference to patients and communities across Powys.

The successful candidate will be allocated a base clinic at Llandrindod Wells and will be expected to work flexibly across different locations where dental treatment is provided.

The postholder will develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the dental team, as well as with patients, parents, guardians, education providers, day centres, social services, other dental services, General Dental Practitioners, hospitals, medical practitioners, carers, care homes, nursing homes and dental material suppliers.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of the Dental team, preparing and monitoring patients for and during their treatment, providing pre and post-operative instructions.

Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment to provide a high standard of care for patients.

This rewarding role requires working autonomously when anticipating instruments required during procedures carried out by the clinician, mixing materials, and holding instruments in position.
