Democratic Services Officer

Do you want to work in a key role supporting important decision-making? If you have experience as a Democratic Services Officer and are looking for new opportunities or if you have no direct experience but you have an eye for detail, keenness to learn and an interest in the democratic process we want to hear from you. Who? We have an opportunity to join our busy team either as a Democratic Services Officer or a Trainee Democratic Services Officer, depending on your experience. Democratic Services ensures the Council's democratic decision-making functions are carried out in an effective, transparent and legally compliant manner. What will you be doing?

• Preparing agendas, minutes and other written records
• Arranging meetings and advising on procedure including school admissions appeals
• Assisting elected members with a wide range of queries
• Delivering projects to support the service, The team is based at County Hall, Matlock and there will be a need to attend regular committee meetings, which all take place during the working day. This role offers hybrid working options which will be to subject service needs, there'll be an opportunity to discuss working arrangements for this position at interview.
